Cooking with Chef Norka – Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd June.
Spend the long weekend with the Mangapapa team learning about Hawke’s Bay’s extraordinary food and wine scene, plus staying in the ultimate luxury of the five star hotel.
Includes for two persons:
Two nights stay in a beautiful hotel suite with cooked and continental breakfast plus use of spa facilities.
Dinner cooked both nights by award winning, Chef Norka and her team.
Educational cooking lessons in the intimate setting of Mangapapa with Chef Norka where you will learn the secret to her special lamb dish, have a chance to make macarons, discover the world of pasta making and explore our Mangapapa kitchen garden.

Mangapapa Winter Lunch
Soup, sandwich, salad and tea or coffee. Escape the Winter chill with a warming, cosy lunch at Mangapapa. Enjoy our roaring fires and welcoming restaurant for a spot of delicious wholesome, tasty food created by our talented Chefs.

1 in 9 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. This means at Mangapapa we will all know someone who is or will be effected by this and we would like to show our support.
Our event will be fun, delicious but also help bring awareness about this terrible disease and raise some money for the outstanding charity. The brunch will be made up of long sharing tables with a large selection of sweet and savory breakfast treats, a glass of pink bubbles plus tea or coffee.
Tickets are $65 with $15 of every ticket being donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

It’s the gold for us! Winner of Beef & Lamb Excellence Award 2019
Another successful year for Mangapapa, as our new Head Chef, Norka Mella Munoz and her kitchen team have been awarded the Beef & Lamb Excellence Award 2019 for the second consecutive year in a row. This award is for her fabulous menus using Hawke’s Bay lamb and New Zealand Beef to create five star dishes, served in our stunning restaurant for Mangapapa’s five course set dinner menu. As well as offering our five course dining experience, Head Chef Norka has introduced from January, an option of three course set dinner menu; offering another chance to sample fine dining with five star service.
The Mangapapa Kitchen maintains a ‘paddock to plate’ philosophy, adhering to the seasons and using fruit and vegetables grown in the hotel kitchen garden and surrounding orchards. They are inspired by the local produce and the quality of those ingredients to produce exceptional menus with flair and creativity. Wonderful High Tea with the Dilmah Family!
Over one Art Deco weekend, we had a very special event organised with the Dilmah Tea Family for their fantastic customers. Having heard all about our Mangapapa High Tea, Dilmah Tea worked with us to provide a unique dining experience for some lucky customer, competition winners. Our team of talented Chefs, created a customised, tea inspired menu, complete with traditional Sri Lanka love cake, tea inspired sorbets and dainty china cups brimming with yummy tea. It was an honour to meet the founder of Dilmah Tea, Mr Fernando & his son, Dilhan and see them enjoy our scrumptious sweet treats.
