Mangapapa Hotel awarded Qualmark 5* Gold for 2021!

The team are delighted to be one of only two five star accommodations in Hawke’s Bay to be awarded the Qualmark 5* Gold for 2021. Art Deco Trust – Lost Generation Lunch

19th February 2022

We are going to pay tribute to the Lost Generation of American artists who during the 1920s found their voice again in Paris, creating a new style and way of thinking that gave birth to modernism in America. Your afternoon starts with a glass of French bubbles and canapés on the lawn while you listen to music of the era. Followed by a 3 course 1920s French inspired lunch done with a modern twist. Lunch will be paired with French wines and café or thé with your dessert while you are taken back into the world of Hemmingway and Fitzgerald.

Summer F.A.W.C – Nomads Dinner postponed to January 30th 2022

Thank you to all those that still kept their tickets to support this event. Unfortunately HB Tourism made the difficult decision to postpone November’s events to hopefully achieve a great sequence of events in January 2022 and the Mangapapa Team are really excited to showcase the Nomads’ Dinner – Unseen Asia; partnering with Smith & Sheth winery on the new date of January 30th 2022. It’s the gold for us! Winner of Beef & Lamb Excellence Award 2020

Another successful year for Mangapapa, as our new Head Chef, Norka Mella Munoz and her kitchen team have been awarded the Beef & Lamb Excellence Award 2020 as part of her Beef & Lamb Ambassador role for the third consecutive year in a row. This award is for her fabulous menus using Hawke’s Bay lamb and New Zealand Beef to create five star dishes, served in our stunning restaurant for Mangapapa’s five course set dinner menu. Wonderful High Tea with the Dilmah Family! 

Over one Art Deco weekend, we had a very special event organised with the Dilmah Tea Family for their fantastic customers. Having heard all about our Mangapapa High Tea, Dilmah Tea worked with us to provide a unique dining experience for some lucky customer, competition winners. Our team of talented Chefs, created a customised, tea inspired menu, complete with traditional Sri Lanka love cake, tea inspired sorbets and dainty china cups brimming with yummy tea. It was an honour to meet the founder of Dilmah Tea, Mr Fernando & his son, Dilhan and see them enjoy our scrumptious sweet treats.
